Sticky. Comfortable. Built to last. The grip that does it all without chalk.
The TWL Karbon Pro Grips are built for athletes who want elite chalk-free performance, all-day comfort on the wrist, and a grip face that holds up session after session without degrading. Engineered in the TWL Lab, the SilKar™ silicone-carbon construction delivers exceptional bar tack the moment you grab the bar — no chalk, no bar prep, no warm-up period — while the Kevlar Karbon layer makes these one of the most hard-wearing chalk-free grips in the world.
TWL’s Karbon Grips have been elevated to the next level with the TWL Karbon Pro Grips - engineered for unmatched grip, performance, and durability.
SILKAR™ — A DIFFERENT CATEGORY OF GRIP TECHNOLOGY:
Almost every chalk-free grip on the Australian market uses Hypalon as its primary surface material. The TWL Karbon Pro uses something fundamentally different: SilKar™ — TWL's proprietary three-layer construction combining Silicone, Kevlar Karbon, and Microfibre into a single 2.4mm grip face.
This isn't a variation on existing technology. It's a different approach entirely — delivering stickiness, durability, and comfort from three materials each doing a specific job.
- Layer 1 — Silicone outer surface: Medical-grade silicone delivers exceptional tackiness on steel, powder-coated, and stainless bars through contact alone — no chalk, no bar prep required. Unlike Hypalon which relies purely on surface friction, silicone creates a conforming contact layer that adapts to the bar's surface texture. The result: grip that doesn't degrade under sweat — it improves
- Layer 2 — Kevlar Karbon reinforcement: Kevlar Karbon sits between the silicone surface and microfibre backing, providing structural rigidity that prevents the grip face from deforming under load. This is what gives the Karbon Pro its distinctive "locked on" feel — the grip doesn't stretch, bunch, or shift during high-rep sets. Kevlar Karbon also significantly extends the life of the grip face under repeated bar contact
- Layer 3 — Microfibre backing: Soft microfibre sits directly against your palm, wicking sweat and eliminating internal slipping — so your hand stays still inside the grip even when everything else is moving fast
At 2.4mm total thickness — the benchmark in premium gymnastics grips — the Karbon Pro lands exactly where you want it on the bar every time: thick enough to provide a consistent grip surface, not so thick that it bunches or folds mid-movement.
KEVLAR KARBON — THE HARD-WEARING LAYER THAT SETS IT APART:
Most gymnastics grips wear out at the grip face — the surface that takes constant impact against the bar degrades over time, losing tack and eventually tearing. The Karbon Pro's Kevlar Karbon reinforcement layer is specifically engineered to prevent this.
Kevlar is the same material used in cut-resistant gloves, protective gear, and high-performance composites. In the Karbon Pro, it sits between the silicone surface and the microfibre backing — absorbing the shear forces that occur every time your hand meets the bar at speed. The result:
- The silicone grip surface lasts significantly longer than non-reinforced grips
- The grip face resists delamination under high-volume training
- No thinning, no peeling, no premature failure — session after session, week after week
- The Karbon Pro maintains its tack and bar feel far deeper into its lifespan than standard grips
This is the grip for athletes who train hard and often — and don't want to be buying new grips every few months.
CHALK-FREE — NO PREP, NO MESS, NO PERFORMANCE DROP:
The SilKar™ silicone surface activates through contact and body warmth — no chalk required, no bar prep needed. The silicone layer is also more tolerant of existing chalk on the bar than Hypalon-based grips — so if your training environment is chalk-heavy, the Karbon Pro handles it without performance drop.
No microfibre towel is needed or included — the Karbon Pro works right out of the bag on any bar condition.
THE WRIST SYSTEM:
The Karbon Pro wrist system is built around the same proven hardware as the TWL Sticky Grips Pro:
- 1.5-inch wide leather wrist strap — durable, supportive, won't crack or degrade under daily use
- Metal strap loop — bears the load under tension, unlike plastic which fatigues and fails
- Precision-cut strap hole — clean, customised fit without bulk
- Thick cushioned neoprene wrist pad — eliminates pressure points during extended sessions
- Pull-tab design — fast in, fast out between movements
WHAT'S IN THE BOX:
- 1x TWL Karbon Pro Grips – Black/Yellow (sold as a pair)
- 1x TWL Knitted Wrist Wraps (Pair) — additional wrist support & comfort
- 1x Ventilated storage bag — keeps grips aired out and ready
Note: No microfibre towel included — the SilKar™ surface performs on any bar condition without bar prep.
BUILT FOR EVERY BAR MOVEMENT:
- Pull-ups & chin-ups — high-rep unbroken sets under fatigue
- Toes-to-bar — consistent bar contact through the set
- Bar muscle-ups — secure transition from pull to push
- Ring muscle-ups — silicone tackiness on wooden and metal rings
- Chest-to-bar pull-ups — full palm coverage at extension

SIZING — TWO SIZES, SIMPLE SYSTEM:
TWL Karbon Pro Grips come in just two sizes — Small and Large — making sizing straightforward. Measure from the crease of your palm to the base of your middle finger:
- Small: Up to 10cm palm length
- Large: 10cm and above
When between sizes, go larger — a slightly larger grip is always preferable to one that's too small and restricts movement

⚠️ SAFETY — PLEASE READ BEFORE USING:
The SilKar™ surface creates strong bar adhesion. Grip lock can occur if the grip wraps excessively around the bar during kipping or dynamic movements. Test carefully in a controlled environment before using in a competitive workout. Ensure correct sizing, secure the wrist strap, and always know how to open your hand to release from the bar. Inspect for wear before each session.
NOT SURE WHICH GRIP IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Every athlete's hands are different — and so is every grip. If you're still weighing up your options, the TWL Grips Guide breaks down our full range side by side, covering materials, designs, sizing, and which grip suits which training style.
| Material | SilKar™ |
| Composition | 2.4mm - Silicone / Kevlar Karbon / Microfibre |
| Features | SilKar™ is TWL's proprietary grip material — a three-layer construction combining Silicone, Kevlar Karbon, and Microfibre into a single 2.4mm grip face engineered for chalk-free bar performance. The Silicone outer surface creates a conforming contact layer that locks onto steel, powder-coated, and stainless bars through contact alone — no chalk required. Unlike Hypalon-based grip materials that rely on surface friction, silicone adapts to the texture of the bar itself. As body temperature rises during training, the silicone surface becomes progressively tackier — meaning grip performance improves through a session rather than degrading. The Kevlar Karbon reinforcement layer sits between the silicone surface and the microfibre backing, absorbing the shear forces generated every time your hand meets the bar at speed. Kevlar is the same material used in cut-resistant and high-performance protective composites — in SilKar™ it prevents the grip face from deforming, delaminating, or thinning under high-volume training. The result is a grip that maintains its tack and bar feel significantly deeper into its lifespan than non-reinforced alternatives. The Microfibre backing sits directly against the palm, wicking sweat away from the skin and eliminating the internal hand slipping that undermines grip control during long sets. |
