The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly driven, dynamic, and collaborative Trade & Merchandise Manager to oversee and execute TWL’s merchandise and trade strategy. You will be the bridge between our brand partners, product teams, and marketing — ensuring we have the right products, at the right time, with the right message to drive both sales and brand strength.
This role is pivotal in shaping TWL’s product offering, leading sales-driving initiatives, and ensuring merchandise strategy is seamlessly integrated into marketing and operational plans.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising & Reporting

Lead TWL’s merchandise strategy in alignment with the business plan and growth targets.

Manage product assortment, category expansion, and seasonal initiatives across all TWL product categories.

Analyse market trends, seasonal/climatic factors, and customer insights to inform buying decisions.

Partner with the Inventory & Ordering Manager to align buying patterns, pricing, margins, and volumes.

Develop OTB (Open-to-Buy) budgets with Finance to achieve targets in Revenue, Gross Profit Margin, and TWL Branded Sales.

Produce weekly KPI reports on inventory performance, identifying fast movers and slow sellers with actionable recommendations.

Review product launch performance (sales velocity, stock turnover, margin contribution) and determine repush or clearance strategies.
Sales Initiatives

Own the planning and execution of all major sales events (e.g., Easter, Mid-Year, TWL Week, Black Friday, Boxing Day) as well as tactical flash sales.

Curate product selections for sales in collaboration with the Ecommerce team.

Set and manage markups/markdowns in line with KPIs and inventory goals.

Negotiate and secure special deals with brand partners for sales campaigns.

Ensure cross-functional teams (Chief Marketing Manager, Operations, Ecommerce) are aligned and prepared for each sale.
Marketing Integration

Lead Trade Team Meetings to identify sales-driving opportunities — from boosting high-velocity products to clearing slow-moving stock.

Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer to align merchandise strategy with seasonal campaigns and product launches.

Ensure accurate and compelling product information is available for all website listings and campaign assets.
Brand Partnerships

Build and maintain strong relationships with brand partners such as Nike, Reebok, Adidas, and Under Armour.

Ensure partners are actively engaged with TWL’s trade and marketing calendar.

Conduct regular business reviews to optimise assortments, secure exclusives, and drive growth opportunities.

Identify and onboard new brand partners to expand product offering and enter new categories.

Negotiate commercial terms to maximise profitability.

Who You Are

3+ years in merchandise, buying, or category management (retail or ecommerce preferred).

Strong commercial acumen with proven results in hitting revenue and margin targets.

Skilled in product selection, pricing, negotiation, and vendor management.

Data-driven with advanced skills in inventory and sales analysis.

Collaborative leader who can drive cross-functional alignment.

Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Passion for training, fitness, or sports industries a strong advantage.
